We found this opportunity through the Dutch platform www.huizenoppassite.nl.
After an introductory video call with Niekie and Rob, we quickly agreed on the sit.

We looked after Floris, a very old and sometimes incontinent cat. He was very cuddly and easy to care for. Niekie and Rob have a lovely backyard where Floris could wander around without the risk of running away—perfectly arranged for him, and with plenty of outdoor space for us as well. The weather was mostly nice and sunny during our stay, which was great for Floris too, as he could spend lots of time outside and do his business outdoors when he didn’t make it to the litter box in time.

We didn’t know this part of the Netherlands very well, so we enjoyed exploring the area on several days. We also took out another membership at a local gym. The contact with Niekie and Rob before, during and after the sit was very pleasant.

They asked us to look after Floris again for a month in 2025, but we already had other plans and confirmed sits, so unfortunately we couldn’t come a second time. Sadly this was not necessary anymore, because Floris died at age 17 shortly after our sit ended.
