This sit was for the owners Jenny and Neil. Jenny herself is a very experienced house and pet sitter and she was in Spain at the start of our sit. Neil was taken to the hospital 1 day before we arrived, so we were welcomed by Annie, a good friend of them. Annie made us a delicious Shepherd’s Pie as welcome meal.
The handover was smooth and the pets were so easy and funny. We had the pleasure to look after Rasta, a gentle big black Labrador, Teddy, a funny small terrier, Sugar, a very cuddly cat and Junior, a shy ginger cat that came to look for his food twice a day.
Rasta, Teddy and Sugar would sleep in the bed room if you let them, but are fine outside the bedroom. We didn’t let them sleep in the bed room. We had a lot of good laughs with them. Rasta, is very proud of his collection teddy bears and presented them regularly to us. He also liked to be chased in the big lawn/meadow. That’s only 2-3 times a day for a couple of minutes. We took Teddy with us for some walks in the area, but this was too much for Rasta. The dogs could go outside and run/walk around and “do their thing”.
Sugar was very affectionate and presented 3 dead mice as presents. She’s the one always lying with you when watching TV or listening to music. As said, Junior is shy but came always around feeding time at the window to collect his food. The cats and dogs are very easy company and all animals go well with each other. This maked sit also very relaxed without any issues.
The house is a rebuilded farm house with a typical old fashion interior. We enjoyed it very much. The heating was good and the Wifi and mobile signal also. It has a big lawn which we mowed twice. That took us around 2 hours on a motor mower. The area was super nice and quiet and close to beautiful places such as Toulouse, Tarbes, Lourdes, Auch and smaller villages close by such as Boulogne-sur-Gesse, Castelnau-Magnoac and Lannemezan. We visited some markets and we went also to the Pyrenees, cycling up the Col d’Aspin and the Tourmalet. We visited Lourdes and also the beautiful Pic du Midi were we had excellent weather with astonishing views.
At the last days of our sit we met with Jenny, away from the house so the pets were not distracted. She thanked us for being easy and relax despite the changed circumstances at the start of the sit. Because we and she are experienced sitters, this was all very easy to handle.
We left the place tidy and would definitely come back if our calendars match. We do recommend this sit to other sitters.
