After our 1st successful housesit for Joost and Barbi, we immediately agreed upon a 2nd sit. This time it was from 5 November 2018 till 15 November 2018. Same house, same animals and still good weather. During the evenings we had to use the wood burner. This heated up the living room. There was also heating in the sleeping room. We had to pay extra attention to Bosch, one of the cats. She wash old and ill and Joost and Barbi warned us that it might be possible she would die during our sit, but that was luckily not the case. Actually she stayed alive for more than 1 year. The other cats and the hens were easy to take care of. We cleaned the garden (raking leaves) and we made sure the property was clean when we left. We had a nice dinner together and we shared some stories. After these sits we have had regular contact once in a while. Also to do another housesit for Joost and Barbi, but because of our different schedules and Covid-19 restrictions it didn’t work out yet. Maybe in the future!

Smart, caring friendly couple

Iwan and Kirsten are the best things that happened to us during a terrible year. My mother broke her hip and is now in a wheelchair, my mother-in-law died and one of our cats died as well. But they were there for us. They came to our house so that I could visit my 89-year-old mother in the US. And now they’re coming back so that we can go to Holland and clear out my mother-in-law‘s apartment for sale. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them. They are extremely reliable, communicative, kind and just all-around good people. They left the house so clean it was like a professional did it! And the most important thing was that they were so good with our cats. We have older cats with medical needs and they made sure that they ate and got their medication and kept an eye on them on a regular basis. It really meant the world to us and we never had to worry while we were far away in the United States. They are the perfect housesitters really, and I have nothing but good to say about them. If you need someone to take care of your house and/or your animals, you can’t go wrong with this lovely couple.
